Company Overview

A company overview is a readable profile of your firm — what you do, who you serve, and how to work with you. It is a document, not a flyer.

Northfield Advisory — Company Overview

Document date: August 2026

Prepared for: Prospective clients evaluating a delivery partner

Who we are

Northfield Advisory is a 14-person operations consultancy based in Chicago. We help mid-size logistics and field-service companies replace informal intake — spreadsheets, inboxes, hallway decisions — with documents and workflows their teams will actually use.

What we do

  • Diagnose where customer requests and internal handoffs stall.

  • Design dispatcher, coordinator, and sponsor workflows that fit the current tool stack.

  • Train the people who will run the new process, then stay through a defined hypercare window.

Who we serve

Regional operators with 40–400 employees. Typical clients have a strong operations leader and a process that grew faster than the paperwork. We do not sell consumer apps or run payroll.

Capabilities

Practice

Typical engagement

Example outcome

Intake & dispatch design

8–14 weeks

One queue instead of three inboxes

Operating cadence

4–6 weeks

A Friday status the sponsor actually reads

Training & SOP writing

2–5 weeks

New hires follow the same steps in week one

How we work

We write the work down. Proposals, scopes, plans, and status reports live in the client’s ZuffSuite workspace so the company keeps the record. We name a single principal. We do not staff anonymous “pod” teams.

Differentiators: we refuse projects that require fake software capabilities, and we will walk away if the sponsor cannot give a two-day decision turnaround. That constraint is how Harbor Lane’s portal project stayed on a 12-week calendar.

What this document is

A company overview is a concise, text-first summary of a company’s identity, practice areas, customer fit, differentiators, and core facts. It gives prospects and partners an immediate, credible picture of the firm.

When to use it

Use a Company Overview when introducing your firm to prospective clients, partners, or advisors before a formal proposal is requested. If you are submitting commercial terms for a specific project, use a Business Proposal.

How to use this ZuffSuite template

State your core service clearly in the first paragraph. Use the capabilities table to show concrete outcomes. Keep the key facts table current with team size, location, and typical engagement scale.

Best practices

  • Focus on what you do best rather than listing every possible service.
  • Include concrete key facts (founded, location, team size, focus).
  • Keep contact details clear and easy to find at the end.

Common mistakes

  • Treating the document like a marketing brochure with vague buzzwords.
  • Omitting typical project scope or pricing range.
  • Failing to explain who the firm is NOT a fit for.
