How to use this resource
- Open Start Here and choose the blank copy for your own term. The sample copy contains fictional course names and dates.
- Add each course once, then enter only the milestones that affect your semester in Semester Calendar.
- Put every graded deliverable in Assignments and use Weekly Plan to reserve realistic work sessions.
- Update assignment status after a work session; the workbook recalculates days remaining and course completion when opened in Excel-compatible spreadsheet software.
Plan at two levels
Use Semester Calendar for the few dates that shape the whole term: exams, project checkpoints, breaks, and major due dates. Use Weekly Plan for the actual blocks of time you can protect. Keeping those views separate makes it easier to plan ahead without turning every hour into a commitment.
Keep the course list useful
Record the course code, meeting pattern, instructor contact route, and notes you want to find quickly. Course information is a reference sheet; assignment rows are the source of truth for graded work.
Use a weekly reset
At the start of each week, scan the next two weeks of deadlines, break large assignments into visible actions, and reserve a little open time for changes. The planner is a prompt to make decisions; it cannot know your course rules or personal availability.
Worked example
A practical example
In the fictional sample, BIO 110 has a lab report due Friday. The student adds the final due date, then reserves a Wednesday source-and-data check and a Thursday draft review in Weekly Plan. The weekly plan shows the work sequence; the semester calendar keeps the larger deadlines visible.
