How to use this resource
- Enter each exam date and the topics or units that will be assessed. Check the course outline for the actual scope.
- Add several short study sessions before each exam and name the task and retrieval method for each one.
- Mark a session Done only after completing it; review the progress indicator and move unfinished work to a realistic open slot.
- Print the Revision Calendar sheet or use your spreadsheet app's print settings to keep a paper schedule.
Schedule learning actions, not just hours
A useful session names a topic and an action: solve practice problems from memory, explain a concept without notes, or compare two themes. The workbook includes room for minutes and a completion status, but the schedule should match your course materials and energy.
Use spacing and retrieval
Spread review over several days where possible. Revisit material after a gap, try to recall before rereading, and use practice questions or worked examples when available. For unfamiliar material, schedule an earlier session to identify what needs help.
Adjust when plans change
Review the days remaining and the planned sessions together. If an exam moves or a session is missed, update the date and choose the smallest useful next step. Leave room for rest, other courses, and instructor guidance.
Worked example
A practical example
The fictional BIO 110 exam is October 28. The student plans one session to recall cell structures without notes, then a later session to solve practice questions and check errors. The calendar shows the sequence; the student marks progress after each session rather than treating scheduled hours as completed learning.
Common questions
Does the planner generate a schedule automatically?
No. It is a workbook template for entering exam dates and study sessions you choose. It does not know your course topics, availability, or learning needs.
Can I print the revision calendar?
Yes. Open the Revision Calendar sheet and use your spreadsheet app's print or save-as-PDF options. Review page layout before printing.
