How to use the AVIF to JPG converter

  1. Step 1

    Add an AVIF image

Select one file or a batch. Your browser checks the actual file and opens it locally if that AVIF variant is supported.

  2. Step 2

    Choose quality and fill colour

Set JPG quality. If the source contains transparency, select a background because JPG cannot store alpha.

  3. Step 3

    Review and save

Check the measured output size, then download single JPG files or a ZIP of the batch.

JPG compatibility

JPG works in nearly every image viewer, form, and office app. Converting from AVIF creates a copy from decoded pixels and keeps the source dimensions.

JPG uses lossy compression. Higher quality keeps more visible detail; the exact file size varies by image and is shown before download.

Transparency and limits

JPG has no transparency channel. Transparent AVIF pixels are blended onto the selected background colour.

AVIF decode support depends on the browser and the image profile. Animated or unusual variants may not open, and an animated image is reduced to the frame exposed by the browser decoder.

Questions about AVIF to JPG

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser: your files are read and converted on your own device and are never sent to ZuffSuite. The page downloads the conversion code it needs, then works on the files locally. Closing or reloading the tab discards everything.

Can I choose a background for transparent AVIF?

Yes. If the AVIF input can carry transparency, choose a fill colour. The transparent pixels are blended onto that colour in the JPG.

Does every browser support AVIF?

No. Support varies by browser, device, and AVIF profile. This converter depends on the browser's native decoder and reports files it cannot open.

Will the JPG be smaller?

It depends on the image and quality. The actual size comparison appears with the result, including when a JPG is larger.

Are image dimensions preserved?

Yes. The converter keeps the decoded pixel dimensions and does not resize the AVIF.
