Why convert WebP to JPG?
WebP is widely supported on the web, but some older desktop apps, upload forms, and document workflows still expect a JPG. Converting makes a copy that is easier to share in those places.
The conversion keeps the pixel width and height. JPG is lossy, so the quality control trades smaller files for more visible compression; the result size is shown before download.
Transparency and orientation
JPG does not support transparency. If the source has transparent pixels, the converter blends them onto the selected background colour.
Images are decoded and drawn by your browser, which applies image orientation where the browser's decoder supports it. Animated WebP is reduced to its first frame; this tool creates still images.
