How to use the AVIF to PNG converter

  1. Step 1

    Add AVIF images

Choose one image or a batch. The page checks the file signature and your browser decodes the image locally.

  2. Step 2

    Convert to PNG

The converter keeps the pixel width, height, and alpha transparency of supported AVIF images.

  3. Step 3

    Download the result

Review the actual output size and save each PNG or all files in one ZIP.

Why convert AVIF to PNG?

AVIF can store efficient web images, while PNG is accepted by many editors and graphics workflows. A PNG made from an AVIF can be much larger because PNG does not use the same compression.

PNG keeps transparency and the dimensions of the decoded AVIF. The output is created from pixels, so AVIF metadata and animation are not copied.

Browser decoding varies

Input support depends on whether the browser can decode that AVIF variant. The tool uses the native browser decoder and displays an error if the image cannot be opened.

The converter does not fetch remote resources or send your file to a server. Very large files still use memory on the device, so smaller batches may work better on phones.

Questions about AVIF to PNG

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser: your files are read and converted on your own device and are never sent to ZuffSuite. The page downloads the conversion code it needs, then works on the files locally. Closing or reloading the tab discards everything.

Does AVIF to PNG preserve transparency?

Yes, if the source has an alpha channel and the browser decodes it, the PNG output keeps the transparent pixels.

Why can't my browser open an AVIF?

AVIF support depends on browser and operating system versions, and some AVIF profiles or sequences are not supported by every decoder. Try a current browser or another image format.

Will the PNG be smaller?

Usually not. PNG can be larger than AVIF, and the actual before-and-after sizes are shown in the results.

Does it convert animated AVIF?

No. The browser decoder exposes a still image for this tool. Animation and sequence frames are not preserved.
