How to use the Split PDF tool

  1. Step 1

    Choose a PDF

Add a local document to create page thumbnails. Signed, protected, or unsupported forms are flagged before export.

  2. Step 2

    Choose how to split

Extract selected pages into one PDF, enter groups such as 1-3; 4-6, or create one PDF for every page.

  3. Step 3

    Download the output

Save a single extracted PDF or download multiple range and page files in one ZIP.

Three ways to split a PDF

Extract mode copies the selected pages into one PDF. Range mode creates a separate file for each semicolon-separated group, and every-page mode creates one PDF per page.

Pages are copied with pdf-lib rather than rendered into images, so text and vector graphics remain page content in the output. Page annotations or interactive form data may not survive page copying; signed and fillable form PDFs are blocked.

Local processing and limits

The document is processed in your browser and never uploaded. This page supports PDFs up to 50 MB and 300 pages so it can show a thumbnail for each page.

Password-protected, damaged, signed, certified, and fillable form PDFs are not supported. Keep your original file; splitting creates new copies and never changes the source.

Questions about Split PDF

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser: your files are read and converted on your own device and are never sent to ZuffSuite. The page downloads the conversion code it needs, then works on the files locally. Closing or reloading the tab discards everything.

Can I extract pages into a single PDF?

Yes. Choose Extract selected pages, then click page thumbnails or enter a selection such as 1-3, 5.

How do I split a PDF by ranges?

Choose Split ranges and separate each page group with a semicolon, for example 1-3; 4-6. Each group becomes its own PDF.

Can I make one PDF per page?

Yes. Choose One PDF per page. The resulting files are bundled into a ZIP for download.

Are text and graphics turned into images?

No. Page content is copied into new PDFs without rasterizing it. Some annotations, signatures, or form data may not be preserved, so signed or fillable documents are blocked.
